I have a cold, and it's headed toward my chest. Great.
So it has already cost me $225 to get my car towed ($50), to fix just the battery/labor portion of my vehicular woes. The litany continues:
1. Struts need to be replaced= $875 worth of parts & labor (aka "p/l"), people!! Bastards. 2. Brake rotars are severely warped, and need to be replaced, along with the pads =$247 p/l 3. Exhaust has a hole by the converter, and should be fixed at some point, as this could potentially kill me via bad gas= $308 p/l. Oh wait, that's Weasel= free. 4. Blower motor resistor is shot= $100 p/l. (I need this to keep my car warm in winter). 5. Window regulators for both front windows= $273 p/l (so I can open & then shut my powers windows, without having to get out to put it back in it's track). 6. Door lock solenoid & latch are shot (and have been for a long time- it's what should click softly instead of go BLEEEAHHP! when my power locks kick in over 15mph)= $234. 7. New tires, as the warrant has expired on mine, and the right tire has had issues since I drove my car into a pothole the size of Texas. Thanks MNDoT, for once again not using my taxes wisely. New two tires (well, not even new--they'll be 55k tires... and my rear tires have less than 3 years on them, BRAND NEW. As in, I was the first person to drive on them. Where the fuck do they get these used "55k" tires, anyway? From MY car, that I'm paying $228 to replace & have aligned? Fabulous, kiss my ass. And why is it OK to have different mileage on front & back tires? Wear & tear is wear & tear. Isn't my car going to run funny??
Where the hell is an honest mechanic when I need them? Is $95/hour a bit exhorbitant? Fawk. I didn't ask you to be cheap-- you have to pay your bills, too... but don't dawdle, either. If the job only takes 1/2 hour & you stood there itching your nuts for 1/2 hour & then call it an hour, I don't want you to put your scuzzy mits anywhere near the rest of my car, thanks.
Grrrr, RAWR!!!!!
Piece of shit.
Post Script two hours later: On the upside, at least I have the means to attempt to pay for my car fix-its. I am also able to rent the cute little Hyundai Accent I've had for 2 days, whilst my car is at the mechanic. Always watch for "leadfoot-itis when going from a big beast to a wee thing-- 75 arrives MUCH faster!).
More good news: I was able to return the item I'd lost my receipt for, with no hassles. Yeah! Three hot toddies later= feeling a little better. Going to listen to Bach & go to bed.

Yesterday, the car wouldn't start. Apparently the battery was corroded beyond all recognition (being located in the wheel well in the state of MinneSnowTa, gee-- I just can't see how this might happen), and the mechanic had no idea how it had managed to start for this long.
I also have an exhaust leak by the converter-- so if anybody wants to ride with me & try to get suffocated, go for it.
Today I am going to try to find out if the sawy bars are going again, or if it's something more serious. I also should get my windows fixed, have the blower for the heater fixed, and find out why the bastard if shifting so hard. *sigh* I might be looking at a new car. Or worse, riding the bus. Fuck me!
Also, I got written up at work yesterday, and I feel absolutely betrayed.
P.S. It's raining, and more of my ceiling is threatening to soften. I broke one of my storm windows by accident, and I already have a huge amount of condensation forming in my spare bedroom. I also seem to have some rather dire issues with the caulking in my bathtub... I expect that any day now, the floor will just give way & I'll be buck nekked & trying to figure out how to climb out of a hole. I give up, I hate this fucking place.
Cheers & Whatever

Bleah.
It's morning. Barely just. I closed at work, and must open this morning. I hate my stupid schedule! gah.
I must leave in 6 minutes to take my car to the body shop. I'm getting an estimate on a repair for damage that was caused by vandalism that occurred while my car was parked in my fricking driveway. Asshole idiots, every single one of them.
Whoever they are.
My bad foor is very tender & swollen, and I've been gimping about uselessly for the past two days. My appointment to get my foor looked at isn't until next week... Damn.
Blat, I veto this morning.

POST-SCRIPT: I just noticed that I spelled "foot" wrong, twice. I would correct it, but the fact that I was complaining that I needed an IV of caffeine just makes it even more amusing, in a very sad way.

Hmmf.
I miss my car. It is still in the shop, whistling a sad little tune. I'd have to say that I'm not very amused/impressed with the shop at the moment; no one bothered to call me on Friday to let me know that my car was still out of commission-- and that they aren't open on weekends. Grrrrrr!!
So, the fix-it tab is up to about $1200, now. I belatedly realized that before the water pump & oil sending unit decided to spring leaks, I was going to get a tune up. Gee, at this point, what's another $100, right?! *sigh of disgruntlement and disappointment*
On the upside, my mom has been down visiting, so she's been my chauffeur (as it were). If not for her, I'd have shelled out another $200 to rent a car.
~ And now... I must study. I have finally picked a date to take my Board Exam. I know, I know, I could have taken it a long time ago & have been working already. I simply wasn't ready. That's my feeble excuse, and I'm sticking to it. *blows vicious razzberries*
Cheers & All
