"Is that what you want to do? You want to bounce on his bones a few times, feel the rush of pleasure & accomplishment and perhaps receive accolades for creative maneuvers well done?"
"That's cruel! I just want to spend some time with him, to get to know him, be there for him, and see that he's happy... Sex isn't everything."
"Oh. OK. So the facts are that: he's also 10 years older than you, from another country & culture, wealthy, speaks a language you don't understand & don't want to learn, is somewhat high profile & is mobbed on a regular basis by adoring fans, and those things don't faze you a bit?
"No."
"What about being a stellar role model and/or stepmom?"
"What?"
"He's got kids. You'll be spending a considerable amount of time with them, as well."
*silence*
*silence*

Folks who have kids without the presence of partners seem to have a wide range of additional relationship challenges.
*sigh* Best of luck & love to you.

** hideous sounds of things going awry in the background, followed by a dull thud**

"I can't look. Did he do it?"

"Oh, aye. And with about as much grace as a roofer fallin' off a house."

Tin Pan Trick

I've decided to add a new tag, "imaginary friend," for random thoughts that flit through my head... Beginnings of tall tales, beginnings of stories... One of those "somebody somewhere had to have thought of this, right?" moments.

I am so glad that I am easily entertained.

Tonight's brainpan brought to you by reading a very old newspaper article about how many languages Pope John Paul spoke:
"I bet that somewhere out there, there's an amazing person who has learned many languages just for the joy of it. They (of course) hold a job that is not related to languages, and is wholly unworthy of their talents. When asked by peers why they don't take a higher-paying job as a multi-linguist, the person replies that they think and speak in other languages so frequently that they've forgotten English."

OK. Time to see if we can stay asleep...

Cheers & All
