I couldn't tell you why I'm so sad... Emo, bipolar, another fabulously classified mood disorder, whatever. Just that it has once again reduced itself to smiling sadly because... it's not that there's nothing... it's just that it's gone screamingly quiet, and I can't stand it.
I ate so much food at the State Fair today. It was fricking awesome! I walked a lot, and it felt good.
I am still sad. It's the wrong time of the month to be sad, but I am. I don't think crying will help. I'd rather smoke, but that won't help, either. I think that at the moment, I'll just go to bed like a normal person.

Corporate is sending troops from other stores to cover our store-- over 3/4 of our staff is going to Harvey's funeral, counting the folks who work nights. All but a handful of our morning staff is attending-- this is not particularily useful if none of the remaining employees are cashiers-- on a sale day.
Thank you, Corporate. You will be there when we need you the most.
This has been a very, very rough ride.
And my bloody hand still won't work right. Bah.
However, I'm about to have a lovely breakfast, so hopefully that will boost things in the right direction.
I will also be able to catch the last few hours of the festival at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church. If you live near St. Paul & like Greek food & festivities, this is not to be missed. Location is: 1111 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Hours are from 11-6 today.
Also, Happy 1st weekend of Renaissance Festival, for those of you attending! I will not be able to attend until the last Sunday, more's the pity. Have a couple of horns of mead for me!
Cheers & All

Ugh, am not feeling well this morning. Dreamt hard, of places that look like they're out of gothic romance novels. Wide open, overcast & moors galore, with heather everywhere. Smelled like peat moss.
Damn, some days I really resent working. Oh well, working does great things like keeping food in bellies & a roof over my head.
The Irish are Coming.
Well, at least for a few days. This here lass is going to wiggle her way to the ass-end of one of the Irish dance/song performances that are going on this weekend at Harriet Island, if it's the last thing she does.
Cheers

First, a couple of pictors from Saturday's outing at the fair. Then I get to complain.
Four of the six Belgians, all gussied up & ready to strut their stuff. They won ribbons!
Six Belgians, rarin' to go. A piece of equipment broke on the first round, nearly causing a catastophe. Thank goodness for a pair of good leaders, an excellent driver, and a crew that's fast on quick. Sadly, the equipment couldn't be fixed, and the Belgians were disqualified.
I wish I had remembered to take a shot of the gorgeous 6-horse team of Percherons. I just let my jaw sag in wonder & joy, and didn't take a picture to make the moment last longer. *le sigh*
~ And now, my whining: I hurt all over. I haven't done anything that I can immediately identify as "Oh yeah, I did (whatever), that's why I hurt"... My low back aches, my neck is stiff, the glands under my ears--both sides-- are swollen, my throat is scratchy, my vision is a bit wonky, I have a headache, my sinuses are out of sync & in the toilet, and I am just plain not feeling well. Phooey!
Other than that, today has been good. I got some more studying done, I did dishes, laundry, and made myself a lovely breakfast:
potatoes, mushrooms, garlic, onion, spinach, basil, eggs, Spanish paprika and some bits o' bacon. Mmmmm.
*yawn* Ugh. I think I need a nap... I'm off & slumbering. Cheers & All
